I'm too sexy for this blog

Two Christmases ago, DH bought a framed version of the LDS church's Proclamation on the Family that included with it a space for a family picture. For two years now it has hung in our living room with that space shouting YOUR FAMILY PHOTO HERE (I would have left the whole thing down until we had one, but DH, as you may recall, hates a blank wall like nature -- and my girls -- hate a vacuum).

Well, this week my lovely and talented sister Mary was kind enough to take a family portrait for us. DH almost never smiles in pictures (he's not so much camera shy as he is camera bitter) but we discovered the secret to getting a grin out of him: Grab his crotch! LOL. Mary told the girls to hug their dad so they wrapped their arms around his legs. Uno, being a little taller than she used to be, grabbed a little higher than she maybe should have. Ooof! Everybody laughed, and after DH's face relaxed again we got several photos of his charming natural smile -- including this one, which will hang in the frame next to the Proclamation:

DH, RCH, Uno, Tres, and Dos

At my request, Mary also did a photo shoot just for me. I'm very rarely in pictures, since I'm usually the one behind the camera (and more than a bit self conscious). But Mary has an amazing eye for portraiture. She took lots of good ones, but this one's my favorite:

Thank you, seester! You rock. :-)

I love the pictures, aside from the story behind the first one being slightly disturbing...hee hee. The second one your eyes are especially blue and I love those church window shapes behind you...where was that?

Your family is so talented! Go Mary!

RE #1: Hey, whatever works! ;-)

#2: Thanks, and they're not even tarted up in Photoshop this time, lol! I think it's the blue shirt mostly. We took that picture against the next door neighbors' covered back porch. (They moved a month or two ago and nobody else has bought the place yet, so we trespassed.) I have no idea what the rusty church window shape thing actually is, but it runs across the top of that wall like a border or molding. (I was standing on a desk they left behind to be tall enough to reach it.) It's cool, though, huh?

Super cute family picture. Your family is fabulous and so are you.
It was nice to see all of you together. DH might not like to smile but he sure can make others smile and laugh until they pee their pants...I remember a few of those moments around the Sunday dinner table. I really miss you guys!

Wow it was nice to actually see a pic of you and your hubby. I thought you were blonde all this time! I think I need to get into photography.
