UNO: Mom, does it hurt to have a baby?
RCH: Well, yeah, but it's worth it. And some ladies have medicine that makes it not hurt at all.
UNO: Do you have to have a shot?
RCH: You can have a shot if you want to, but you don't have to.
UNO: How does the baby get out?
RCH: There's a special place on your body that only girls have, and when the baby's ready to come out it stretches out big enough for the baby to fit. And then it goes back small again.
UNO: Does that hurt?
RCH: Yeah, unless you have the medicine. Oh, and some babies don't come out that way -- some babies come straight from their mom's tummy.
UNO: How?
RCH: Uh.... The doctor cuts the tummy open and lifts the baby out, and then sews the tummy back up.
UNO: WHAT?!?
RCH: But they don't even feel it, I promise! There's that medicine...!
UNO: I'm never NEVER ever having babies. [Starts to cry.]
RCH: You have a long time to think about it and decide, so don't worry about it too much right now.
UNO: [Melodramatic sobbing] No, never! I'm never having babies!
*Sigh!* Well that went well.

Huh, sounds a little like her mother.
LOL! But the fear must be genetic, because I got over all of my doctor / medicine / baby-having phobias when she came along, so she hasn't seen that fear modeled from me!
Poor kid! I do know how she feels.... ;-)
Exactly like you! :-) So cute, even the melodramitic crying. I heart her.
I thought you overcame your doctor phobia when a cute one came by, gave you a wink and then you married him. You marrying a doctor was a shock for me, but a great choice.
Oh, I was still plenty scared of having babies! Not to spill all my private business, lol, but if Uno hadn't been an accident I'd probably still be childless. But after 9 months of needles and invasive visits and then the actual event.... Eh, big deal. ;-)
And yes, I think he was a pretty good choice, too. :-)
Way to warp your child:) I love these questions. Ours usually come up at dinner with the whole fam present. Lots of eewws to follow. Aah the joy of motherhood!!
I can relate!!! Ahh who would have ever thought you and I would have 3 kids? I agree it is worth it even if it is scary.
