I don't like the double-story foyer in the second plan -- that seems like a waste of space to me -- but otherwise I think they're both lovely.

I have always voted and wished and hoped for a Washer and Dryer IN MY CLOSET!! How awesome would that be?Even better: three washers and one big dryer, Three washers: one for colors, one for whites and one for towels etc., so you can SORT and you DISROBE!! Hello! But seriously, do the laundry room upstairs with all the bedrooms if at all possible. That is my vote and my two cents. Yyzgrk to you too word verification man!!
I like the first one...it just seems like a friendly floorplan.
I think I like the look of the second one best. Although... that first one looks like it has a fun porch...
Ok, my official vote is for the second one.
:D
Houseplan #1:
Good sized kitchen/eating area, but it has a teeny-tiny pantry. I would maybe try to reconfigure it slightly to give you more pantry space. Maybe take out the desk area beside it, or make it a smaller desk area. Some people really like desks in the kitchen, but others would rather have more cupboard or pantry space. Its a personal decision.
Other than that, the first floor looks really nice. Love the study and it looks like you have plenty of bookcases between the study and family room. Though knowing you, you might want to add more somewhere.
The workshop is nice too!
I like that it is a 4bdrm plan, I think you would really like that.
I would add an unfinished basement though. Gotta give the kids room to hang out and play though! Gotta think into the teenage years! They won't be able to always play and fit into that family room with all their friends around!
Floorplan #2:
Now this one has the cool bonus room which could be the cool hangout room! So you might not need an unfinished basement if you didn't really want one.
With this floorplan, I would go the 4th bedroom option and maybe use the dining room like a study as well.
The pantry is kind of on the smallish side again. But this one looks pretty easy to just swap the pantry and the desk area. So you'd have a larger pantry, but a smaller desk area and then you still get to have both.
I agree on the wasted space issue, but honestly I think I like this floorplan the best just because you have the bonus room over the garage which makes a great play area while they're young, and a groovy hang out space when they're older WITHOUT adding the extra cost of building in a whole unfinished basement.
I would even out the closet space between bdrms 3 and 4 though. Why should bdrm 3 have more closet space??? Trust me, each kid needs as much as they can get, but give them both an equal chance!!
So there you go! My preliminary thoughts on the floorplans!
The second one is on my favorites list! :) I'm all about symmetry and the garage not overpowering the front of the house. I don't like houses that are all garage out front.
But I love the first one too...such pretty tiered gardens and I love the serene green color. Plus I like the fact that the garage is hidden off to the side. That's always a nice feature.
Hmmm...I think I'll go with number two still. It's my favorite (though I'd like more porch!)
