No-cook recipes, please!

It's getting hot. We have no air conditioning. With our house already at 82+ degrees Fahrenheit by the end of most days (and we haven't gotten to the really hot part of the summer yet!), I refuse to turn on the oven to cook dinner.

I have some of my own already, naturally, but I'd really appreciate the help of you dear readers: What are some of your favorite no-cook recipes? Stove top-only recipes are okay too, I guess, as long as I don't have to stand in front of a skillet or pot stirring constantly.

Thanks! *MWAH!*

Go for the crockpot and the grill! They will be your best friends! Lots of cool fruits and salads. Popsicles and smoothies!

I'll dig you up some recipes soon!

Oh and the microwave! It won't heat up your house either. I have a whole microwave cookbook that shows you how to cook all sorts of things. You can totally have it if you want!

Grill grill grill.
I only like Veggie Dogs right now. No meat. We even heated up some frozed sweet potatoe fries on the grill last night.

I say crock pot is best. Here are a few of our favs:

Salsa Chicken:
Put 2-3 frozen (or fresh) chicken breasts in crockpot. Add 1/2 jar of salsa. Let simmer 4-6 hours. Shred chicken and serve in tortillas with your fav toppings. (we like to grill the tortillas first with a little bit of olive oil)

Tin Foil Dinner (with no tin foil)
cut up 2 cups carrots
2 cups potatoes
1 small onion
1-2 cans cream mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
let simmer 4 hours
add:
1-2 lbs hamburger browned with 1 garlic clove, pepper, 1/4 tsp thyme.
Simmer 1 more hour ENJOY

There's been some word on the street about certain crockpots having extremely high amounts of lead in the ceramic--not unlike the plates and whatnot that have been in the news recently. I'm not a big fan of crockpots, myself...they're a pain in the butt to clean and if you don't plan ahead...BAH!
But I'm all for the grill. I like my meat crispy and carcinogenic. (I know the burnt parts are bad for you but I LOVE it.) YUM! :)

Here are a few no-cook recipes I like that even my wean will eat.

Crockpots are easy to clean if you use the reynolds liners (they look like the big turkey bags), or if you spray them with cooking spray before you put your stuff in (that tip is from Shauna).

I like the crockpots with removable inner part--makes it easier to clean too.

You should buy an "easy back oven", know in the real world as a toaster oven. We decided to try one a few months ago so we bought a cheap small Black and Decker on from Target. It is great because you can cook regular things without heating up the whole house. They range in size, cost and style but they are worth checking into if you want to bake food without turning your already hot house into an even hotter one. We are cooking brownies in ours right now. Other things we have cooked are pizza, bread, muffins, and cookies.
